Minnesota Duluth used a one-two punch of Laura Fridfinnson and Emmanuelle Blais to advance to their sixth NCAA Championship Game. The Combo combined for three points each as the Bulldogs built a 1-0 advantage after the first period to a 3-1 lead going into the third period. Gopher Netminder and BTD Player of the Year Noora Räty was strong stopping 21 of 24 UMD Chances however in the end it was the small mistakes made mostly by the Gopher defense that led to their demise. At the other end, UMD Freshman Netminder Jennifer Harss made 27 saves in picking up the victory.
With the win UMD improved to 4-2-0 this season against the gophers.
Minnesota-Duluth will return to the ice at Ridder Arena once more as they face Cornell at 1:00pm ET Sunday.
