Olympic Coverage, USA shuts out Russia 13-0

Team USA scored early and often in a 13-0 rout of Russia today in Game 2 of Group B play at the Olympics. Jenny Potter netted her second hat trick of the games while also picking up an assist leading the American scoring. Captain Natalie Darwitz also added 2 goals and 3 assists in the game to lead in points. Kelli Stack and Hilary Knight each contributed four point efforts as well. Potter's three goals made her the first player ever to net back to back hat tricks in the history of the Olympic Games.

Jessie Vetter made 7 saves in her Olympic debut.

Former Badger, Erika Lawler was held out of today's game to give her bruised foot a bit more rest prior to Team USA taking on Finland Thursday afternoon. Speaking with both Mark Johnson and Eriak Lawler prior to the game it was indicated that she could have played if necessary but the medical personnel felt she could be close to 100% by Thursday if she rested today.
