Olympic Coverage, Canada downs Switzerland 10-1

Team Canada continued to roll today in Group A play downing Switzerland 10-1. Following a fairly competitive but one sided first two periods Team Canada turned up the dial a notch in the third adding five additional goals to pad their lead.

Switzerland got on the board towards the end of the second period but was unable to build on their goal once play resumed and Canada took advantage.

Florence Schelling also of Northeastern University turned out another promising performance in net before being spelled after the tenth goal today. Flo was able to make 45 saves on the 55 shots she faced while her teammates managed just 12 shots on Canadian netminder Shannon Szabados during the entire game.

Both teams return to the ice Wednesday as Canada takes on Sweden and Switzerland battles with Slovakia in a game that should feature some stellar goaltending.
