BTD Polls for the Week of February 7th

Another week of action in the books and still Wisconsin, RIT, and McGill maintain their top positions in their respective polls.

In the NCAA National Collegiate Poll Wisconsin maintains all 40 first place votes despite needing overtime to down Bemidji State on Saturday afternoon. The Badgers are followed by Cornell who continues to impress. The Big Red(s) are followed by Minnesota who swaps places this week with Boston University on the strength of their two wins over St. Cloud and the Terriers 4-2 home loss last Thursday to New Hampshire. Mercyhurst, Boston College, UMD, and North Dakota hold their positions in this weeks poll. Jumping into the poll for the first time in awhile is Dartmouth coming in at number nine this week. The Big Green are 7-3-0 in their last ten games and despite having a recent loss to last weeks number ten Quinnipiac, their strong play Saturday and Quinnipiac's loss to number ten Harvard, was enough to put them one spot ahead of the Crimson.

Both the CIS and NCAA Division III polls saw a middle of the pack shake up this week.

While the top of the CIS poll remains unchanged this week with McGill, StFx, Alberta, and Laurier occupying the top four spots; Calgary and Manitoba move up one position this week as Brock falls to seventh. The Badgers had a rough 1-1 weekend as they clearly missed Beth Clause's absence to the Canadian University Games team Saturday, as they were down 4-0 after two periods en route to a 6-1 loss to Queens. U-Sask, Moncton, and Guelph round out the poll as they remain in the eight, nine, and ten spots.

Over in the NCAA Division III poll; RIT, UW-River Falls, Plattsburgh State, and Norwich hold their positions this week in the one through four spots. Elmira and Middlebury each move up a position as Amherst falls down two spots after a rough weekend at Bowdoin that saw a comeback win and a 2-1 loss. After Amherst, Trinity and Gustavus Adolphus hold their eighth and ninth spots this week as Concordia University joins the poll coming in at number ten. The Falcons who are in the poll for the first time in a while are 6-2-2 in their last ten games.
