West Weekend Preview

CHA Series
Syracuse @ Mercyhurst
FRI-7:00 PM ~ SAT-2:00 PM
Live Stats ~ Webcast

Syracuse playing without leading scorer Isabel Menard and forward Stefanie Marty the Orange will need to do all they can to put points on the board. Mercyhurst who adjusted well without Bram and Bendus in the lineup last weekend clearly has the upperhand once again as the Lakers could easily blow the Orange out of Erie.

WCHA Series
Bemidji State @ St. Cloud State
FRI-2:07 PM ~ SAT-2:07 PM
Live Stats ~ Webcast ~ Audio

When these two foes met earlier this season in Bemidji the beavers used early goals to take advantage and then used their defense to stave off the Huskies attemts to get back into the game. Erin Cody is the Beavers best offensive weapon, meaning if SCSU can neutralize her, keep the game close, and stay out of the penalty box they may very well see their first win of the season. The Beavers need to play their game the way they did in the first half and success in this series will be a sure thing.

Minnesota State @ Minnesota
FRI-6:07 PM ~ SAT-4:07 PM

It's the struggling Mavericks against the surging Gophers. If Minnesota picks up where they left off in December then the Mavs could be in for a long weekend in Minneapolis. The Gophers won the series earlier this year in Mankato with solid defense in the first game and a raging offense in the second game. The Mavs have not won a game since the week prior to that series in Mid November. With Noora Räty getting better each week the Gophers should have no problem picking up two wins if they don't get caught cold at home.

Wisconsin @ Ohio State
FRI-7:07 PM ~ SAT-4:07 PM

Riding high following two wins over Mercyhurst and Northeastern at the Easton Classic the #1 ranked Badgers roll into Columbus riding a six game winning streak. Showing no effects of the four missing parts Wisconsin picked apart their opposition last week and will look to do the same this weekend against a Buckeye squad that is missing two of it's top offensive weapons. If OSU can utilize it's remaining forward force then they may be able to wound the Badgers into victory. But with the UW netminders getting more confident in net that could pose more of a challenge then in previous battles.
