West Weekend Preview for November 12th-13th 2010

With quite a few teams taking a break during the Four Nations Week the slate in the west is short but important as the teams in the middle of the pack look to stick with the top and push the pretenders to the bottom of the heap.

North Dakota @ Bemidji State
FRI-2:07 PM & SAT-2:07 PM

Series Focus: Following up their split to UMD Bemidji will look to take down the Sioux using a similar defensive strategy. With the Lams off this week the Sioux will need to stay out of the penalty box and hope that they can withstand Erin Cody in their end if they hope to have a successful weekend and take home some points.

Minnesota State @ Ohio State
FRI-7:07 PM & SAT-7:07 PM
Live Stats ~ Audio ~ Webstream

Series Focus: The Bucks downed the Mavs in all four meetings last season. With Minnesota State in a reshuffling mode of sorts again this year this one could get ugly if the remaining parts of the OSU Offense can click. Coming off a tough series with North Dakota if OSU slips then the Mavs may have a small shot at being able to ride their young talent to victory.

Syracuse @ Clarkson
FRI-3:00 PM
Live Stats ~ Audio ~ Webstream

Series Focus: Following a 3-2 home defeat to Clarkson last Friday Syracuse looks to return the favor this week on the road. If the Orange can get their offense going to aid Isabel Menard in her one woman assault then achieving a victory may be within grasp. The Golden Knights contain a solid scoring nucleus in front of goaltender Lauren Dahm so the Orange will need to utilize their forecheck and get the puck to players they know can score if they want to have better success defeating Dahm.

Wayne State @ Robert Morris
FRI-3:00 PM & SAT-3:00 PM
Live Stats (Fri) ~ Live Stats (Sat)

Series Focus: After two weeks off the Wayne State Warriors look to better their .500 record visiting 1 win Robert Morris. While the Warriors seemingly have the better netminder they will need to put the puck in the net early and often to kill the Colonials hope for their elusive second win. For RMU the story is not so much offense but containing the Warriors slightly more potent offensive set. The Colonials cant play from behind as shown in their results thus far, so if Wayne State gets rolling their may be no stopping them when your trying to play back into the game.

Niagara @ Colgate
FRI-3:30 PM & SAT-7:00 PM
Live Stats ~ Audio ~ Webstream

Series Focus: The Purple Eagles are riding high after a 4-3 OT win over Mercyhurst. If Jenni Bauer remains focused in net and the Niagra forecheck keeps the puck going the other direction then a strong offensive showing for the Purple Eagles should be in order.
