Quest Tour to have young but familiar flair
USA Hockey announced today the 23 players that will make up the 2009-2010 National Team.

Familiar yet new faces dot the lineup as only six former Olympians will once again done the Red, White, and Blue. Angela Ruggiero and Jenny Potter both return for their fourth Olympics, while Julie Chu and Natalie Darwitz will both make their third appearance. Molly Engstrom is the only other previous Olympian to make the roster of 23. Newer faces to the National team scene for the Olympics include Robert Morris goaltender Brianne McLaughlin, and former Wisconsin Badger Angie Keseley.

From the Collegiate ranks, Mark Johnson will have no shortage of current and former badgers at his disposal as eight current and former players head up the US National Team. The Badgers contingent includes Erika Lawler, Jessie Vetter, Hilary Knight, Meghan Duggan, Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej, Molly Engstrom, Kerry Weiland, and Angie Keseley. Staying in the WCHA, Minnesota is represented by three current and former gopher players in Gigi Marvin, Rachel Drazan, and USA Captain Natalie Darwitz. Other WCHA veterans include former buckeye Lisa Chesson, future Fighting Sioux sisters Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux will both participate in their first Olympics in 2010, and former gopher and Bulldog Jenny Potter who will make her fourth Olympic appearance in 2010.

Eastern Colleges are represented heavily by team bellwethers Julie Chu, Caitlin Cahow, and Angela Ruggiero all from Harvard. Boston College standouts Molly Schaus and Kelli Stack both will trade their Maroon and Gold for Red, White and Blue, while Kacey Bellamy will add red to the White and Blue she wears at New Hampshire. Finally from Hockey East is former Providence standout Karen Thatcher.
The US National team will play its first quest tour game on September 25th against the all stars of the WCHA.
